Healing the Story

energy healing and story medicine to support transformation and invite well-being

Healing the Story

The journey is wild and the sorrow deep,  But love is there, however softly it creeps.

My mission is to create supportive connection with clients in a safe and compassionate environment to encourage healing and transformation through energy healing modalities and storytelling. The core values of my practice are compassion, awareness, diligence, and creativity.  By exploring compassionate perspectives of self and other I invite clients to cultivate that skill within themselves. By using techniques of guided meditation or “journeying” I invite clients to build road maps of awareness within themselves. By inviting diligence I support the quotidian effort towards personal balance. And by engaging creativity I invite the power of the imagination to support healing.

I honor every person who put me here. There are many teachers in my life who have guided me to this healing work. They are shamanic practitioners from diverse backgrounds of European, American, Afro-Caribbean, Hawaiian, and indigenous lineage as well as therapists, artists, body workers, somatic therapy practitioners, storytellers, meditation teachers, healers, and energy workers. I honor the word ‘shaman’ which may have origins in the Tungusic language of North Asia and is widely used to denote a person who acts as a bridge between the spiritual realms and the ordinary realms to create balance and healing.  Because of the controversy over the appropriation of the word shaman and its potential use to simplify a rich cultural history I will not utilize the word even though the foundation with which I study uses the term ‘shamanic practitioner’ to describe my training. I will instead refer to my practice as energy work or energy healing.

I honor the earth, and elements, and the spirit of all plants, who continue to guide and support me.

I honor the sacrifice of people world-wide whom are dedicated to peace and justice.

I honor my mother. I honor my father. I honor my ancestors. I honor my brothers and sisters, those with me in the flesh and those who have passed on.
