My Story

Born in Kansas, the seventh child of eleven children I grew up on a subsistence farm and later in the country outside of Kansas City, Kansas. My ancestors, most recently were Czech, Slovenian and Welsh.  My mother is an artist, an amazing gardener and a mother and my father is an educator, a farmer and a father. I attribute my love and affinity with plants to my agricultural and bucolic upbringing, though I know there is a deeper spiritual current to it. It was an illness in my late twenties and the healing power of plants that first set me on the conscious path of healing.  The subsequent death of two of my younger siblings and the trauma of an abusive relationship solidified my dedication to my well-being through a multi-faceted approach to healing. I found healing through shamanic practitioners and sought out training through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.  I pursued creative therapies and I am a graduate of the International School of Storytelling, where I developed my skills as a writer and storyteller and focused my training on the creation and performance of healing stories. I absorbed a variety of energy healing modalities and am currently exploring the benefits and pursuing training in somatic therapies. All of this while being a nomadic gardener and falling deeply in love with plants, and lately with all the flowers.
